artFutura presents a series of high-level workshops or seminars addressed to all those who are interested in the professional side of computer animation, videogames and other disciplines of digital creation.

Before a small number of people, and in a relaxed atmosphere, some of the most famous guests of the festival will talk about their professional career and will explain the way of being introduced to these fields, where they have achieved international recognition.

Alex Grau, born in Barcelona, has worked in the United States since 1996, taking part as a digital artist in projects such as Babe 2, Shrek and Artificial Intelligence. This presentation will display mainly his experience in Sony Pictures Imageworks where he worked as Technical Director in the movie Spiderman.

17:00 a 20:00 - ADAM VALDEZ - Use of Maya in "The Lord of the Rings I and II"

Adam Valdez, born in California, has worked last three years in Weta Digital, New Zealand, the company responsible for doing a screen adaptation of the rich universe of The Lord of the Rings. Adam Valdez, Weta Animation Director.

In his seminar Adam will show a whole scene in Maya taken from the Cave Troll sequence and will present different and exclusive technical aspects of the second movie.
