Despite its history of decades and undeniably important figures, the world of Media Art or electronic art still remains to a large extent isolated from the structures of other contemporary art. This round table explores the situation of digital arts within the global creative scene and the art market. Lev Manovich, an artist and visual arts professor at the University of California, is one of the most important theorist in digital arts. His book "The Language of New Media" is considered one of the essential texts to understand this media's history and evolution. Steve Sacks is the director and founder of New York Bitforms Gallery, the first gallery of its kind exclusively devoted to commercialize the works of software artists such as Golan Levin, Casey Reas or Lia. Roberta Bosco, a regular collaborator at El País, was the first media art critic in Spain.
