XPERIMENTAL ARCADE

Visitors to ArtFutura 07 will also be able to enjoy a spectacular 800-square-meter marquee designed by Buildair and dedicated to electronic leisure. It will house the areas NextFun and Xperimental Arcade.

The Arcade is a very special “games room” in which the latest releases are mixed with products from independent studios, artistic projects and other examples from the less conventional side of videogame culture.

NEXTFUN

Leisure society has arrived and along with it NextFun has been born. NextFun is an international event about entertainment in the future. Its aim is to gather industry professionals, people from the academic world and the general public, so that they can share their knowledge, as well as imagine and enjoy all the new entertainment possibilities.

This year NextFun includes leading conferences, presentations of business and professional projects and information on the NextFun innovation grants. There will also be interactive installations which can be tried out by the public such as: a video system that transforms the spectator into the sculptor of what they see (Khronos Projector created by Alvaro Cassinelli), an installation that lets the participant play with time and their own image (pLayModes, created by Eloi Maduell), a projection that reflects the state of mind of the participants (Human Dynamo) and a huge interactive inflatable slide (Interactive slide, created by Narcís Parés).

NextFun has been conceived and promoted by Barcelona Media - Innovation Centre, in collaboration with the Centre for Innovation and Business Development, Government of Catalonia.
