Last Week

14:00, Monday, 6 October 2008

Last week of Máquinas&Almas (Souls&Machines) at  the Museo Reina Sofía - Madrid.

More than 350.000 people have attended this exhibtion curated by the ArtFutura team and that closes next Sunday 12th. It's a last opportunity to see the exhibition, that has had a tremendous success.

More info at Blogsearch.
"The exhibition left us open-mouthed. I found myself floating among pieces that I didn’t understand, but which fascinated me. Eyes wide open, smiling. I felt something that had been missing for a long time come back. A delight for art had returned. The shock of something that was really new, something unexpected.” (My Sweet Etcetera).

"Once we had entered the room it was just dazzle and enjoyment. It was the discovery of the people that seriously dedicate themselves to these things (from artists to healers, from administrators of cultural politics to the public that appreciated these hybridations) that provoke and produce surprising wonders". (Interlink Headlines / Argentina)

"Souls and Machines" picked up my spirits. Saw the famous Picasso “Guernica” and some Dali pieces. Nothing else was as amazingly mind-blowing after the Machines exhibit". (Redifine Mag)

"This art makes us think about human ingenuity, its intelligence, about technological development, but also, these machines make us smile, they frighten us, the make us believe in mythological animals with their own lives, that is to say that they wake up our imagination. In few words, these machines do not only make us participants in art, but they awaken our emotions and our feelings". (Art Blogspot)

Souls&Machines

10:00, Sunday, 6 July 2008

Inaugurated the exhibition Máquinas&Almas (Souls&Machines) at the Museo Reina Sofía in Madrid

ADN (VÍDEO) 27/06/2008
The Museo Reina Sofía presents an exhibition that takes you on a tour of the ideas, languages and some of the most important works from the last decade related to art, science, technology and society.

Público 26/06/2008
Something to really amaze you. That’s what the Souls and Machines exhibition at the Reina Sofía is like. Robots that sing, ferrofluid fountains, pictures that change their composition according to the visitor’s proximity, animated films… Souls and Machines is an exhibition that Da Vinci would have dreamed about. The show’s made up of such current codes that it becomes something completely unexpected.

ABC 01/07/2008
Going into “Souls and Machines” is to find yourself in a fantasy world in which art comes to life, develops, is contemplated and even interacts with the visitors.

El Cultural 06/07/2008
Souls and Machines, which can be visited at the Museo Reina Sofía until the 15 September, brings together the most well-known names in art of the 21st century.

EL PAÍS 28/06/2008
Historic consciousness also underlies in Souls and Machines, the exhibition curated by Montxo Algora and José Luis de Vicente, directors of the festival ArtFutura, with which the Reina Sofía at last opens up to the most contemporary of creative expressions.

Público 06/07/2008

EL MUNDO (VÍDEO) 27-06-2008
The Museo Reina Sofía has opened an exhibition in which 17 teams of creators explore the way in which contemporary artists approach the crossroads of art, technology and science.
