VIDA was established in 1999 by Fundación Telefonica as an international competition of art and artificial life. Over the last decade, VIDA has awarded artistic projects that have investigated notions of life and artificial life in the context of contemporary technological and scientific investigation. VIDA has received international recognition for its fundamental role in the development and evolution of electronic art as a platform for disseminating a specific area of emerging creation.
VIDA promotes investigation and the execution of projects with production incentives which offer economic support for the production of proposals developed by artists from countries of Latin America, Spain and Portugal.
This exhibition will bring together awarding winning Argentinian artists from previous editions of VIDA who, along with recognized experts in Latin American media art, will talk about the present panorama of creation in Latin America and the impact that VIDA has had on artistic and curatorial practices. The deadline for the presentation of projects for VIDA 13.0 is November 7.
